WBTC on Monad: the canonical reference for Wrapped BTC
WBTC here is a LayerZero OFT. The token contract is the bridge. It has 8 decimals, and in the pool this desk trades, WMON is token1. This page is that contract, that bridge, that flip, and why a one MON clip is refused.

This is the MONAF canonical reference for WBTC on Monad mainnet as of 27 October 2026. The token list names it Wrapped BTC, symbol WBTC, 8 decimals, address 0x0555E30da8f98308EdB960aa94C0Db47230d2B9c. The docs’ longer name is Wrapped Bitcoin. Both point at this address. It is a bridged asset. The token-list extension says LayerZero OFT, and the bridge address is the token itself, which is the OFT pattern: the coin and the bridge endpoint are one contract. The docs say it is bridgeable from Ethereum, Base, and more than a dozen other chains, through Stargate, and they name three markets besides the pool this desk uses: a Curve pool of cbBTC, WBTC and LBTC, a Uniswap MON/WBTC pool, and a Uniswap WBTC/USDC pool.
The OFT warning
Because the token is the bridge, a careless transfer can look like a bridge and not be one, or a bridge can look like a transfer. Ordinary transfer and transferFrom move WBTC on Monad and do not leave the chain. The bridge is a specific send on the OFT, with a destination chain and a destination address, usually started from Stargate rather than from a token-transfer box. Sending WBTC to the token’s own address is not a cute way to bridge. Read the function. If it is transfer, you are staying on 143. If it is the OFT send, you are leaving, and the receipt you want is on the destination chain, not a WMON swap.
This WBTC is not the Ethereum WBTC contract, even if the brand travelled with the OFT. It is not cbBTC, which is Coinbase’s wrapper and a CCIP token at a different address. It is not LBTC. Curve may hold them in one pool, which is a market saying their prices are close enough to stable-swap. A market is not fungibility inside your wallet. The router will not accept cbBTC where the path says this contract. An approval of this contract does not cover cbBTC. A close sells the contract written on the fill.
Eight decimals. The token is the OFT. WMON is token1 in the desk’s pool. transfer stays on Monad. The OFT send leaves.
The pool and the flip
Execution pool: 0x0944526D2727B532653E6Ca6c4D980461E170a09, PancakeSwap v3, fee 500. WMON is token1. WBTC is token0. token0IsMon is false. That is the opposite of WETH, cbBTC, and USDC on this desk. Copy their formula without flipping it and the mark is the reciprocal. Reference pool, not used to execute: 0x9B60E561E3aB15782FbB23ea0a766DD8D91ff8Ac. Router: 0x21114915Ac6d5A2e156931e20B20b038dEd0Be7C. Because WMON is token1, MON wei for a raw quantity is the quantity times the sqrt price squared, over 2^192. Check a known size. Fifty MON should mark near fifty MON a moment after entry, minus the fee. A factor of a million is the decimals treated as 18. A reciprocal is the orientation. Neither is a crash in bitcoin.
Why small clips are refused
One WBTC is 1e8 raw units. At a print near 3,677,000 MON per WBTC, fifty MON is about 0.00001360 WBTC, which is 1,360 raw units. Ten MON is a few hundred raw units. One MON is a few dozen. The measured round trip on this pool is about 0.54 percent at 10 MON and about 0.29 percent at 30 MON, and about 7.5 percent at 1 MON and about 23 percent at 0.3 MON. The registry refuses entries below 10 MON. The chain would include them. The pool would be the loss, and the 8-decimal grid is part of why. A wallet that prints four decimal places will show 0.0000 for a real 50 MON position. Divide the raw balance by 1e8 before you decide it is dust. This desk’s balance row keeps the digits.
Inventory on this chain
The desk prefers this pool over cbBTC when both would qualify, because the measured round trip has been the cheaper one. That is not a verdict on Coinbase or on BitGo. It is a number from quotes. Both cards stay on the screen. You may hold both. You should be able to say which contract a given line is. Paying for another card with WBTC hops this pool into WMON and then into the other pool. No OFT send happens. No unwrap happens. There is no native bitcoin here to unwrap into. A MON-paid close returns WMON and then native MON. A USDC exit, on a wallet fill only, continues into the dollar pool. A vault fill does not offer that exit.
Receipt, approval, and the dark button
A real fill shows a transfer on 0x0555E30d…2B9c, fee 500, pool 0x0944…0a09 if the desk built it, and a raw amount which divided by 1e8 and multiplied by the MON price is the size you tapped. The first sell needs an approval of this contract to the router, then the swap. The WBTC button is dark on the WBTC card. It lights on the other cards only when the wallet holds the coins and a little native MON for gas. Tokens sitting in a vault do not light the wallet button. The vault spends the vault’s MON.
