Four fields on the explorer that tell you whether the close landed
Paste the hash from the timeout. Status, from, method, and the token balance after the block. Those four replace the spinner that gave up.

- The proof
The screen that said Closing will sometimes come back with a paragraph and a hash. The paragraph is the page. The hash is the chain. Paste it into MonadVision or Monadscan, on chain 143, and read four fields. You do not need the rest of the page to decide whether to tap again.
Status
Success means the transaction was included and the calls returned. For a sell, success means the swap happened, subject to you having read the right hash. Failure, or reverted, means it was included and the calls refused. You still paid gas. You still hold the token. Pending, or not found, means you do not tap again yet. Not found on every explorer, after a minute, means the hash never reached the network and a new signature is fair. Not found on the explorer you tried first, while another explorer shows it, means you were querying a slow index.
From, and the method
From should be your wallet, for a position you held there, or the trading key, for a position the vault held. A from-address you do not recognise is not your close. Do not “finish” it. The method should be a swap, a multicall that contains one, or the vault’s sell. Approve is not a close. Transfer is not a close. A method aimed at a contract you did not mean to call is a reason to stop and look at what else that address has been doing, not a reason to send a second one.
Success plus your address plus a swap is a close. Anything less is not done, or not yours.
The balance after the block
Open your address, or the vault, and read the token. A successful sell of the whole fill takes that fill’s quantity away and adds MON or WMON. A partial notebook, where two cards share one balance, takes only one card’s quantity. If the token is unchanged after a “successful” hash, you are looking at a different transaction than the sell. If the token is gone after a hash you thought had timed out as a failure, the sell worked and the card should not be closed again.
Gas used, once you care about the bill
Gas used times the effective gas price is the MON that left the signer for the fee. On a wallet close it should be in the neighbourhood of a few hundredths at ordinary base fees, and under the 0.035 MON ceiling of a full 350,000 limit at 100 gwei. A wildly larger fee means the limit or the tip was not the one this desk builds. Note it. It does not change whether the swap itself happened. The logs do that. A Swap event, or a transfer of the token out and MON in, is the fill. The MON amount in that transfer, next to the mark on the card, is the slippage you actually paid.
Block, and the block two later
The block number is inclusion. Two blocks later is full finality, about 600 milliseconds after the proposal, not a separate thing you must wait a minute for. If you are closing, you already acted at the hash and this is confirmation. If you are paying someone, this is the moment you tell them it is done. Refreshing for a minute does not make a missing hash appear. Looking at a second explorer might.
